New Schofield’s Lounge Bar opens in Blackpool with terrace perfect for enjoying sunny weather

A new family-run lounge bar which offers “great drinks at fantastic prices” has opened in Blackpool.

Schofield’s Lounge Bar on Knowle Avenue officially opened its doors last week.

The new establishment- run by the Schofield family, Peter, Diane and son Joe - is a “community bar where everyone is most welcome, including friends old and new”.

Open from midday to 11pm everyday, there will be regular Happy Hours, “competitive” drink prices, “quizzes with a difference”, musical bingo and more.

A spokesman for Schofield’s Lounge Bar said: “Peter has many years’ experience in the leisure industry, including working at Brian London’s 007 Club, the Adam and Eve, Secrets and the original Brannigans among others.

“You will be guaranteed a warm reception and we look forward to meeting you when you come and enjoy a drink and chat and in addition take advantage of our south-facing sunshine forecourt.”

Forecasters are signalling the prospect of higher temperatures to come into the early part of next week.

If you’re looking for a good excuse to relax in the summer sun, this week customers can enjoy bottles of Budweiser for only £2.50.

Residents took to social media to share their excitement at the bar’s opening.

One person wrote: “Cannot wait to visit and to meet up with old friends.

“Great that the “Schofield” name and family is back in Blackpool again.

“Every success to Pete, Diane and Joe.Peter is the original ‘Mr Blackpool’ - one of the nicest people I have ever met.

“He tutored so many DJ’s over the years and knows everyone by name. Looking forward to it!”

Another added: “The wait is over for Blackpool’s main man to return to what he does best. I wish you all the luck in the world Peter.”
