Age UK Lancashire which has been providing front line support to some of the most vulnerable and lonely people during the pandemic, is setting businesses the challenge to raise as much money as they can through a variety of activities and events, with the support from the charity’s fundraising team.

David Ward, marketing and fundraising manager at Age UK Lancashire, said: “We are really looking forward to this new challenge and hope to get lots of local companies on board.

"We not only hope to raise much needed funds but also hope the challenge will provide each business to raise their profile and motivate their staff”.

Throughout the challenge each business will be highlighted on social media, with regular updates on what they are doing to raise funds and where they are on the leader board.

How each business chooses to raise funds is entirely up to them, but Age UK Lancashire has events such as the Yorkshire 3 Peaks and Great North Run places available.

David Ward said: “It’s been a tough year for a lot of businesses as well as individuals, and we are hoping that this can lift everyone’s spirits.

"There are so many different ways to fundraise from cakes sales, dress down days or personal and team challenges such as running, endurance or even skydiving.

“There is also the option of holding a donations week and encouraging your staff to bring in bags of unwanted items for us to sell in our charity shops. We can support each business to arrange activities they can get involved with”.
