Labour group's conference at resort hotel

The North West Labour Party will be returning to the resort for its annual conference from Saturday.

This is the sixth year theparty has headed to Blackpool and up to seven hundred delegates and visitors are expected to attend the two-day event at the Hilton.

Key note speakers include Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell and Shadow Education Secretary Angela Rayner.

VisitBlackpool Tourism Manager, Mandy Tythe-McCallum said, “I’m delighted to be welcoming the party back on what will be its sixth consecutive year.

Coun Simon Blackburn, leader of Blackpool Council added: “I’m delighted to welcome back the NWLP, it’s great news for Blackpool.

“This year I will personally open the conference to delegates. I’m honoured to be asked to welcome the delegates to the resort. The two-day conference is a major financial boost for the local economy.”

A Labour North West spokesman said: “We are delighted to be returning to Blackpool for our Regional Conference this year where we have always received a great welcome.”
