Building services engineering company, Ameon, will be responsible for the installation of all mechanical and electrical services on FEC’s New Cross Central development: an eight-storey, residential apartment block near the Northern Quasrter and Ancoats.
Ameon will undertake the work on behalf of Dex Cthe contracting arm of developer, Far East Consortium (FEC) which is working withManchester City Council on the 390-acre masterplan.
The building Ameon will be working on is designed to have a distinctive stepped upper floor area to create roof terraces.
It has 80, one- and two-bed apartments, and nine three-bed town houses and is the first FEC project to be undertaken in New Cross.
It is Ameon’s second collaboration with Dex; the first being plot 5 Angel Meadows. Two further contracts are also under way for client FEC, on plots two and three Angel Meadows; bringing Ameon’s total contracts value with Dex and FEC to around £16m.
Ameon pre-contract director, Mark Court said: “We are delighted to be able to maintain our excellent working relationship with FEC and Dex through the New Cross Central contract.
“This new project will keep us involved in the Victoria Gateway with Dex until May 2022; although our work across Manchester on a range of new developments will ensure our continued presence in the city beyond that time.”
Work is due to start on the project in August this year.
Ameon, which has its headquarters at the Whitehills business park, has picked up a raft of contracts in Manchester in recent years.
It also has satellite offices in Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool; supporting its work in the development hot-spots of the UK.
Its range of building engineering services covers everything from electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation contracting to the design and installation of low-carbon building services systems.
