The Breck Apartments in Poulton have been granted ‘five star gold’ status by Visit England.

It is the fifth year running it has won the award and, to top it off, the Breck’s sister site at Northumberland Avenue, North Shore, was granted the four star award after just one year in business.

Both serviced, self-catering venues are owned by Fleetwood Town chairman Andy Pilley. Manager at the Poulton apartments Ami Gullane said they were delighted to retain their top rating.

She said it was a credit to the team of seven who had been with the establishment since the start to meet the strict criteria.

She said the assessors from Visit England check the levels of services and facilities offered.

Each year, every aspect of an accommodation was thoroughly inspected from the efficiency of the booking process to the level of service.

Cleanliness was the most crucial element of any assessment and minimum standards, particularly at the higher star ratings, reflected consumer expectations.

She said: “We are the only five star gold apartments in the Poulton area. It is hard year on year to keep it up and the inspectors can come at any time. We get people coming from all over, to visit Poulton and Blackpool but also many local people for a special occasions.”
