These were the scenes in Blackpool's parks and at the beach today as Bank Holiday sun brings the visitors back to resort

The heavy winds on Saturday and Sunday put off visitors from coming to Blackpool, but the Bank Holiday sunshine saw the Prom busy.

More people have been enjoying the sea air since the Government slightly relaxed the coronavirus lockdown rules.

The Promenade road yesterday saw a fairly constant steam of cars and family groups enjoyed a walk along the front and the beach.

Ian White from Stay Blackpool said that hotels and B&Bs were still remaining closed apart from key workers and were awaiting Government guidance about a further easing of the lockdown later this summer. He said: “There are certainly plenty of people about, and definitely plenty of cars on the prom, a massive change.
