Lytham Gin founder Sara Dewhurst said: "We are absolutely delighted.

"The Gin Guide Awards attract about 1,000 entries from over 30 countries each year. Gins are categorised and blind tasted by panels of judges. The highest scoring gins in each category are shortlisted as finalists, with somewhere between five to 20 per category. "

"This year Lytham Gin entered gins into three categories and were shortlisted in all three."

Founded in 2018 by ex-chemistry teacher Sara and her husband Paul, the company producing Lytham Gin, Sandgrown Spirits, has already won several awards fore its family of gins, including The Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards, The Evas 2019 New Business Award and a silver medal at the London Spirits competition as well as the Gin Guide accolade last year.

Sandgrown Spirits is based at Boundary Road, Lytham and Sara said: “We have come a long way in the last three years.

"Our collection of six gins, three gin liqueurs and three rums are all made in our distillery on Boundary Road and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our new tasting room, The Gin Factory, once restrictions are lifted later this summer.

"All of our gins are lovingly crafted using botanicals which are foraged locally, so each bottle contains a little bit of the Fylde Coast.

"Our winning Original Lytham Gin really is inspired by Lytham and contains Marsh Samphire that is picked not far from the windmill."
