Carters Building Consultancy said work on the site of the former Royal Oak pub, at the corner of Breck Road and Station Road, will start next month.
The pub was built in 1840, but struggled and eventually closed before it was demolished in June 2018.
Plans for 13 two-bedroom and three one-bedroom apartments on the site were given the green light by Wyre Council in June 2020, after planners said, although it was “regrettable” the historic pub had been lost, the “innovative” plans would improve the site, which had become overgrown.
Harry Carter, CBC director, said: “The development is inspired by Victorian architecture with a modern twist.
“Apartments in this location will provide a striking and current new piece of architecture for the area. The Royal Oak was an important part of its history and time of construction when the old railway used to be located off Station Road. The new development will provide a key role within its new era of construction and continue to provide Poulton, a designated conservation area, with high-quality design.”
