Blackpool hotel couple's hot treats for emergency workers in the town

Vipon Mehta and his wife Honey, from the Kensington Hotel on the Promenade, have made and delivered hundreds of hot meals for key workers in the area including ambulance crews, Firefighters and NHS staff at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Mr Mehta said they wanted to do something to help those who were working to keep us safe during the coronavirus crisis.

He said: “We at teh Kensington Hotel do regular charity for food distributions in and around the United Kingdom through the year. In the same way we wanted to encourage our doctors, nurses and other key workers, by offering them food .

"They are all working very hard for us and saving lives. I love them all and this is our way of saying thank you very much.”

A spokesman from the hospital said: “The lovely people from The Kensington Hotel dropped off food today and have already taken meals to the walk in centre and other places. Thank you so much for their kindness.”
