Katie James from Hermosa Boutique in Church Street, Blackpool, is aiming to bring a little joy to children across the coast to fill the gap left by the demise of a radio station’s annual campaign.

Katie is hoping to step in where Radio Wave left off and make sure the most vulnerable get at least one gift this Christmas.

She said: “It is for families, children and vulnerable or isolating adults, just to be able to receive and open a gift on Christmas Day.

“The radio station used to run a fabulous appeal every year, but now that they are no longer here, we thought we would try to do something instead.

“This year especially where people are more isolated because of coronavirus, I think it is especially important.

“We are looking for donations of unwrapped gifts and gift cards, new or good condition pre-owned.

“Just please be mindful we will only be able to accept fully intact second hand games where all the piece are present and in perfect condition.

“With almost 9,000 followers on my Facebook page I’ve reached out across the Fylde Coast using the power of my weekly shopping events Live on Facebook.

“Our events have been a huge hit throughout Lockdown – from Crazy Boutique Bingo for charity to our Christmas special Live Deal or No Deal, so I am hoping people will help with the appeal.

“Morrisons have popped us a trolley Gift drop off point which is fabulous. The Revoelution Centre has received some donations too and also Buttylicious on Dickson road is doing really well.

“We’ve had such an amazing response. Hermosa is well and truly looking like Santa’s grotto. We have one more week left of collections. Donations will need to be dropped off before December 12, so we can prepare, wrap and send them out to families for the big day.”

The presents will be taken to the Revoelution hub where they will be distributed by Santa.

Drop off points: Hermosa Boutique at 168 Church Street.
