Blackpool's coming conference facilities attracts interest in London

The Winter Gardens new facilities due to open next year, the raft of new high class hotels being constructed, the electrification of the Blackpool to Preston line and direct rail services to the resort plus the remodelled sea front and tram system have all been received well at a major expo.

VisitBlackpool joined forces with the Winter Gardens complex and a range of hotel partners including the Boulevard and Hampton By Hilton to exhibit at the International Confex at London’s Excel Arena.

Mandy Tythe-McCallum, business tourism manager for Visit Black pool,said: “Confex is one of the most important exhibitions to attend in order to get face to face with key event organisers.

"Together with our destination partners, we have spoken to many exhibition and conference organisers to brief them on Blackpool’s new, improved business tourism offer, including the fantastic new facility under construction at the Winter Gardens.

“We have received some very promising enquiries and made some great contacts for the future.”
