Blackpool energy company signs deal with national railway arches firm

Octego based at Lancaster house on the airport enterprise zone, has been called in by The Arch Company.

In early 2019, The Arch Company bought Network Rail’s portfolio of former station buildings and 5,200 railway arches.

In doing so, it became multi-use landlord to a host of unique businesses ranging from bakeries to barbers, gyms and micro-breweries to offices and warehouses.

Many of the arches have metered utility supplies and, in taking on the portfolio, The Arch Company, now the UK’s largest small business landlord, wanted clarity on which were metered.

It asked Octego, a specialist in managed energy services delivery, to provide energy bureau services that would identify existing meters across the estate and validate the invoices associated with each.

He added that Octego’s position as one of the UK’s leading utility bureaus also enabled it to go beyond meter identification and invoice validation, giving The Arch Company seamless access to expertise in procurement strategy, site works and sustainability commitments
