Agriculture specialist celebrates double awards

The Winter Gardens was the venue for the second big award win for a Wyre agriculture company.

Levity CropScience, picked up the Innovative Business of the Year award at The Red Rose Awards for the second year running.

The firm was also a shortlisted finalist in the Growing Business Award and International Achievement Award categories.

The award followed hot on the heels of an even bigger win in the Northern Powerhouse Export Awards in Leeds.

Exporting around the world, to the likes of the USA, Ghana, Egypt and Jordan, Levity’s products help to increase crop yields and improve resilience to the dangers of harsh climates and disease.

Anna Weston co-managing director, at the Bilsborrow based firm said: “We’re thrilled to have retained the award, especially since our continued research and product development was highlighted by the judges, as was the impact we’re having across the globe.”

On the evening, the judges said: “Levity CropScience is developing innovations that are having a real impact on the sustainability of crop production in the world. “This is a truly exciting business with a commitment to resolving global food challenges.”

Levity won the Micro-Exporter of the Year at the Northern Powerhouse Export Awards. Held at Leeds Town Hall, the awards brought together businesses from across the North to celebrate their exporting achievements and encourage others to increase their export potential.

The agriculture specialist picked up the award based on its strong performance in the international market, exporting its smart fertilisers.

Levity was also highly-commended in the Most Entrepreneurial Exporter of the Year category.
