Steelwork is now up as part of construction of a two storey Taco Bell drive-thru restaurant on the junction of Rigby Road and Salthouse Avenue.
A former car showroom on the site was bulldozed late last year to make for the scheme which secured planning permission from the council in November 2021.

Hide AdThe restaurant will hold up to 66 diners in total within the building, with 10 covers at ground floor and 56 at first floor.
On the nearby Festival Leisure Park, the new Club 3000 Bingo premises are due to open in late June with a £5m fit out of the interior of the building now underway.
Construction began in 2020 but stopped later that year when the impact of the Covid pandemic and a change in ownership of the retail park contributed to the project stalling.
It has been built on the site of the former Swift Hound Pub, which was demolished in February 2020, after planning permission was granted on appeal in July 2019.

Hide AdAn extension to the Hampton by Hilton Hotel on South Promenade is expected to open soon, adding an additional 74 bedrooms to the existing 130-room hotel.
It has been built by Create Construction, a partner of Create Developments which delivered the original 130-room Hampton by Hilton Hotel in 2018.
The four storey extension has been built on the former adjoining public car park where the Warwick Hotel stood until it was demolished in 2016.
Work on the £21m extension to the Houndshill Centre is also well underway, with a nine-screen cinema, new Wilko store and restaurants due to open later this year.

Hide AdThe Backlot Cinema on the Tower Street site will include an immersive IMAX screen.
Blackpool based engineering company Ameon has won the £1m contract to fit out the building with mechanical and electrical services.
Also progressing are developments to build a multi-storey car park at Blackpool Central and new civil service offices in King Street.
A Holiday Inn Hotel is almost complete on Talbot Road, while Abingdon Street Market is also due to re-open soon following extensive refurbishment.
