Youngsters from guide and scout groups across Wyre came together at the Marine Hall in Fleetwood for the 51st show. And it was a special occasion for gang show chairman Muriel Freestone, who was handed an MBE in the New Year Honours.Producer Andi Lees said: “It was a great weekend. We got a fantastic reception.“The houses probably weren’t as full as they have been in previous years but we did put on the show four weeks earlier than we normally would.“Even so it was very well attended and the kids were given a great reception.“This was our 51st show so we didn’t have the celebration we had last year, but we did get to celebrate Muriel receiving her MBE which was wonderful for her and for the groups.“We tried to keep it very upbeat and the cast did so well, particularly given they had four weeks less to prepare.“There aren’t many gang shows these days and it’s great to keep the tradition alive.”The show, titled Come Fly With Me, ran from Thursday to Saturday and included a matinee performance.
