Yes.

The Vicar of Dibley show is heading to Lancashire.

The stage production revolves around life in the sleepy Oxfordshire village of Dibley which turned upside down when the ancient Rev Pottle dies and the diocese sends new-fangled female Vicar, Geraldine Granger, as his replacement.

“You were expecting a bloke with a beard, a Bible and bad breath.

“Instead, you got a babe with a bob cut and a magnificent bosom!” observes Geraldine when her arrival is met with a mixture of wonder and horror.

Autocratic head of the Parish Council and local landowner, David Horton, is particularly appalled and when it becomes clear that the cheerful, new, chocolate-loving vicar does not intend to play second fiddle, he resolves to have her removed.

But in the run-up to Verger Alice’s spectacularly silly wedding to his socially awkward son Hugo, even David must admit that Geraldine is the best thing to have ever happened to Dibley.

The show, by acclaimed group Poulton Drama, received rave reviews and performed to sell-out audiences at Thornton Little Theatre in November 2013.
