Enjoy Bard in the open air

A Comedy of Errors, which is Shakespeare’s shortest play, is a brilliant farce of mistaken identities, combined with a few undertones of the dramatic and sinister.

In the play, a master and his servant arrive in a foreign port which, unbeknown to them, is the home of their long-lost twin brothers.

Mayhem ensues as brother is taken for brother in a riotous train of misunderstandings, seduction, and pursuit.

The Festival Players’ production is a colourful and entertaining romp performed by the traditional all-male cast.

Parrox Hall is one of the oldest houses in Lancashire and it has been occupied by the same family since well before Shakespeare’s day.

A spokesman for the venue said: “Its spacious gardens provide a magnificent setting for the performance and an opportunity to enjoy both a summer evening picnic and some first-class 
entertainment.”

Gates for the event open at 5.45 pm and the performance will then begin at 7.30pm.
