Kris is a PCW wrestler who was diagnosed with stomach cancer late last year. Kris used to earn a living by wrestling so with him now unable to do so due to undergoing chemotherapy the wrestling community wanted to help him. With PCW leading the charge with an online fund raiser, T-Shirt and DVD sales donations and finally the show last Friday, we raised a combined total of around fifteen thousand pounds for Kris. Other funds, shows and shirt sales have also been happening around the UK for Kris and its great to see the help he is getting in such a tough time.
Sunday we had the opening of the PCW Academy. This has dragged on for a year but it is finally open and ready for business. All thirty of the initial places were snapped up and training commenced on a cold Sunday morning with a good sized group of potential PCW wrestlers. Feedback from the students is all good at this point and I will do all I can to make sure its the best wrestling training facility in the UK.
Rest of the week what have I done? Well I attended a friends funeral and it was actually a happy occasion. John White who passed away with cancer was a coworker who’s partner did not have the funds to have the funeral he deserved. Obviously I just like being crazy busy so I kick started fund raising efforts that raised a total of over five thousand pounds and hundreds turned up to pay their respects thanks to my drive on social media to raise interest in the cause.
So with all that packed in I also had a house guest this week in Chris Masters. I watched Chris drink his body weight in coffee using the pods for my coffee machine. I don’t even want to add up the cost as at thirty pence a pod I might have been more cost effective to put him in a hotel! Chris has been taking training all week in the academy so its a nice treat for students to learn from a former WWE star as part of the membership.
