It’s not that happy...

We can’t imagine that the BBC had too many qualms about giving this drama a green light. After all, it was written by Sally Wainwright, creator of one of its biggest hits of recent years, Last Tango in Halifax, is set in a similar area and features one of its stars, Sarah Lancashire (pictured). It’s a no-brainer, right?

Although it lacks some of the charm of Wainwright’s most famous production, last week’s opening episode was still cracking TV and this episode promises to be just as enthralling.

Nevison is shocked by local villain Ashley’s phone call and, unaware that his trusted accountant Kevin is the reluctant brains behind the plot, confides in him about his Ann’s kidnapping.
