Full steam ahead at model exhibition
The 33rd annual Model Railway Exhibition took place over the weekend brought together by the Blackpool and North Fylde Model Railway Club.
The event which took place at Fleetwood High School aimed to give inspiration and ideas from the broad range of layouts from across the UK displayed in a unique exhibition.

Hide AdThe exhibition was also host to a range of well-known traders from all over the North West supplying valued information for all modelling requirements with club members on hand to share their knowledge on the intricate art. The Blackpool and North Fylde Model Railway Club meets on Monday evenings in Carleton where it’s members offer a wide variety of modelling and expertise.
Areas include woodwork, wiring, track laying and scenic modelling. Blackpool and North Fylde Model Railway club co-ordinator Alan Hawkins said: “It was a great busy weekend, an estimate of around 500 visitors over the weekend, with the brilliant weather helping out.
“Visitors enjoyed the show and we had a number of layouts on show of different varieties to cater for the casual visitors through to model railway enthusiasts.
“There was also lots of action, trains running and all sorts of elements for the children to interact with which creates a real balance for everyone’s interests within the model train industry.”
