All dressed up for Blackpool's Cinderella story

Strolling around the prom were these characters, attired brilliantly in an array of colourful and elaborate costumes, along with film crews.

And it seemed to confirm speculation that the filming is in relation to the upcoming Cinderella film, by Sony Pictures Entertainment, which is due to be released next year.

As these costumes show, when Cinderella does get to the ball, it seems certain to be here in Blackpool.

Comedy writer, actor and American TV host James Corden is thought to be involved in the glitzy production.

The film's remarkable cast also includes Billy Porter of Pose fame as the Fairy Godmother, songstress Camila Cabello as Cinderella and Frozen and Broadway star Idina Menzl playing the Evil Stepmother.

Other stars involved include Pierce Brosnan, Minnie Driver, and British comedian Romesh Ranganathan.

The film is expected to be released for 2021, with Corden, 41, set to play a mouse/doorman.
