The riotous energy of Rudimental certainly gave the chandelier fixtures in the Empress Ballroom a good test.

Not to mention the thousands of fans bouncing up and down, arms waving in the air as if they were in their weekly aerobics class.

Showing off their soulful finesse with a fast-paced set and some energetic dance moves thrown it, it’s easy to see why the four Hackney boys were top of the festival scene this summer.

They whipped up a buzzing atmosphere from the packed out audience - a surprisingly mixed crowd of fresh-faced teenagers to silver haired ravers – who let themselves go to feel good tunes Too Cool, Never Let You Go and Bloodstream from their second album, We The Generation.

Rudimental’s sprawling supporting cast – two female guest vocalists and five piece band –brought boundless energy to Wednesday night’s gig, with one-to-watch Anne Marie stealing the show with her stunning vocals.

The quartet’s blend of drum and bass rhythms and trademark trumpets was the perfect recipe to keep the crowd bouncing non-stop for just short of two hours – not least when they belted out chart-toppers Feel the Love and Waiting All Night.
