Richard, who teaches evening classes at Blackpool and the Fylde College, is hoping to have the portraits of the RNLI crew displayed on tram stops along the Promenade.

Richard, who lives near Stanley Park, said he was inspired by the vital work the crews do after seeing them regularly when on the Prom with his students in the evening.

They were taken over a period of time during lockdown

Richard added: “The aim is to have the images along Blackpool tram stops facing out to sea from August 9. We are also running an open call exhibition at Hive arts with the subject being ‘the sea’.”
