But a long enough lens can squeeze both tourist attractions into one amazing shot.

Blackpool photographer Mark McNeill spends his time creating unique images of his town, and this one is no exception.

Taken on Saturday from the tram station at South Shore, the picture shows the end of North Pier, with the majestic Lakeland Fells some 41 miles away, shimmering in the background.

His post on Twitter received much admiration, including from a user called Mick who said "You should have photoshopped a camel on there! The Fylde desert!"

Mark explained that the images was shot on a Nikon Z7 camera, with a 500mm f5.6 telephoto lens, which compresses the perspective.
