Young performers prove they have got big talent

The first heat of the Big One Talent On Stage saw 28 young performers head to the Pleasure Beach Globe with singers, dancers, musicians and even a hula hoop act all hoping for place in the final.

Judges Amanda Thompson (Pleasure Beach managing director), Kelly Willars (Stageworks Worldwide Productions talent booker and Simon George (Stageworks Worldwide Productions talent co-ordinator) said they were blown away with the standard of talent but eventually sent singers Rebecca Molloy and Jordana Armstead, girl group Be Minor, dance act Distracted and Alfie Ashall through to the grand final.

Last Friday saw Star Idol open its doors for the first time this season at Pleasure Beach Horseshoe in the Casino Building with 15 acts taking to the stage.

Star Idol welcomed a variety of acts with ages ranging from 17 to 84 with singers, dancers and a collection of comedians taking part.

Clinching the £50 heat prize and a chance to win £500 in the final was singer Sophia Leonard from Manchester.
