Award winning comedian, actor and writer Dave Spikey makes his Fleetwood debut at the Marine Hall on July 12 with his critically acclaimed Words Don’t Come Easy tour.

The co-writer and co-star of Phoenix Nights, presenter of Bullseye and team captain on four hit series of 8 Out of 10 Cats says he inspired by the reaction to his deconstruction of song lyrics in his Best Medicine Tour so has drawn on his fascination with “the vagaries of the English Language” to create a new show that examines more situations in life where words really don’t come easy.

Situations such as tongue-tied parents explaining the facts of life, ridiculous newspaper stories, adolescent chat-up lines, police speak, pretentious menus and song lyrics that range from the lazy through the surreal to the ridiculous are all included.

Throw in a Champion the Wonder Horse sing-a-long and rubbish school trips and you have all the ingredients for a rich and spicy comedy casserole or as the comedian himself says “a sort of Lexicon Carne.”

Tickets available from the Marine Hall box office on (01253 887693) or online at www.marinehall.co.uk. All seats priced £18.
