Poulton Library is building on its recent successful author visits by going transatlantic.
Writer, Wendy K. Perriman, originally from Kirkham and now based in the USA, will be reading from her latest book, Fire On Dark Water, at the award-wining library on Blackpool Old Road this Friday from 2.15pm.
In addition, Wendy will be talking about her career and will welcome questions as well as carrying out a book signing.
The visit adds to the wide variety of successful authors who have appeared at the library, including Neil White, Zoe Sharp and Gervase Phinn.

Elaine Bevan, library manager, said: “It’s tremendous that an accomplished author like this has chosen to visit Poulton Library. I recommend people obtain their tickets quickly as they’re sure to disappear.”
Wendy will also be going back to her roots by visiting the Scroll Bookshop in Poulton Street in Kirkham on Thursday from 10am till 3pm to sign copies of her book. The bookshop can be contacted on (01772) 686612.
Wendy grew up in Kirkham. After graduating from the University of Lancaster she completed a post-graduate certificate in education at Bristol University then taught English, drama, and dance at various international secondary schools in England, Germany and the United States.
She moved to America in 1994 and is now a dual citizen, living with her family in a sailing community on the shores of Lake Norman near Charlotte in North Carolina.
