Thornton will be a hive of activity this weekend as people flock to Burn Naze People’s Festival of Arts, Crafts and Music.
The four-day festival at the Burn Naze pub, in the grounds of the old ICI factory, kicks off today with and acoustic ‘open mic’ night from 7.30pm until 11pm.
Musicians wanting to show off their talent are warned to “be early to get on the list”.
On Saturday, Thornton-Cleveleys Junior Brass band will begin the entertainment at 11.20pm followed by many other acts taking to the outdoor stage.
Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Bikers day will be held on Sunday while Monday will include all things folk, vintage and traditional, such as a performance by the Singleton Cloggers at 11.30am.
Proceeds will go towards renovating Burn Naze Halt railway station.
