What splashing good fun!
The recent wet and wild weather didn’t bother three of the Fylde Coast’s top beauties, when they donned their bikinis and went straight in at the deep end for an American TV show.
The Travel Channel show, Xtreme Waterparks, came to the famous Sandcastle Waterpark on Blackpool Promenade, to film its latest episode.
After a casting, the three beauty queens – Miss Blackpool Joanna Johnson, Miss Fylde Coast Galaxy Vickie Martin and Miss Radio Wave Charley-Dee King – were picked to appear in the programme.
Xtreme Waterparks is billed as an all-access, adrenaline-filled virtual tour of the wildest, most over-the-top and exhilarating water rides from all over the world.
Among the attractions the show will feature is the MasterBlaster at the Sandcastle – the world’s longest indoor rollercoaster water slide.
Vickie, Miss Fylde Coast Galaxy 2014, from Cleveleys, said: “It was a fantastic day, but it was really full-on.
“We were shattered by the end, it was such a busy day, it was non-stop – but all three of us really enjoyed it.
“We attended a casting for the filming through Angels Elite Modelling Agency and we got picked.
“They filmed us going on the MasterBlaster, they filmed us on the dinghies, and also on the Sidewinder slide.
“They also filmed us outside – not in our bikinis, in our regular clothes – wearing our sashes and crowns, in one of the Cinderella carriages.
“It was a really fun day and we all enjoyed taking part in it.
“The programme is expected to be shown on the Travel Channel on Sky around about March. We can’t wait to see it.”
Casting producer Bonnie Clark said: “The girls were terrific. Once we saw them at the casting, we thought they would be an excellent representation of Blackpool.
“Their outgoing personalities during the casting process made us confident they would be the best choice for that particular episode.”
