Some of Blackpool’s best known clubland names are teaming up tonight for A Comrades Night of Fun at Nellie Dean’s on North Promenade.

Venue owner Stephen Pierre said: “So many retired veterans will be visiting Blackpool over the next week or so and as Nellie Deans is within close proximity of the Cenotaph I felt it would be appropriate to offer these brave soldiers a free night out with reduced priced drinks and some refreshments.

“Many of the local performers who are featured in the Nellie Deans Summer Show 2011 have kindly offered their time to take part in this special evening. Including myself there will be nine acts and the show is reminiscent of the cabaret from Blackpool summer season heydays.”

Taking part will be Bernard Manning tribute act Ricky Lane, comedienne Leigh Myers, former Ivy League member Robert Young, comedienne and singer Janice Yorke, drag act Kitty Litter, host and compere Jonathan, Swing Thing vocalist Sara Chesto plus Paul Morgan and the Stardust Dancers.

Entry is free however a voluntary donation can be made to Supporting The Brave and a donation from the bar takings will be made to Help For Heroes.

Nellie Deans, at 150/152 North Promenade, has wheelchair access and welcomes people of all ages.
