Sands Venue on Central Promenade is to stage the fund-raising Blackpool Variety Show 2012.
The August 1 event, organised by Lee Robson of Variety Shows Blackpool is aimed at the whole family and is compered by Deja Vu with special guests Black Lace, Rik ‘n’ Nic, Chipper, diminutive Robbie Firmin from Britain’s Got Talent, plus 16 other acts.
All proceeds will be donated to Brian House Children’s Hospice in Bispham.
Variety Shows Blackpool, is a non-profit organisation which was founded in 2010 by Lee who, after watching the first Royal Variety Performance to be held in the resort since 1955, decided he wanted to try and do something similar.
It is now an annual show raising money and awareness for local and national charities.
Variety Shows Blackpool has also teamed up with Josh Taylor from Bolton and 1st Floor Music to record and release a charity single. Fourteen-year-old Josh started singing in 2007. Since then he has performed in many shows including the International Talent Showcase in Paris and the Remembrance Service at the Albert Halls in Bolton.
He performed at last year’s Blackpool Variety Show and is working on a new song which was written for him and the charity by 1st Floor Music. Breaking Free will be available for digital download on July 30 from iTunes and the limited edition CD will be available to purchase on the night.
The event takes place on Wednesday August 1 from 6 to 9pm. Tickets are £9.95 for adults and £5.95 for children, group discount available.
