Two choirs join in the Big Sing

Two Fylde coast choirs will be joining this year’s Big Sing in November.

After missing the last tri-annual performance, held in aid of Cancer Research UK, Blackpool Male Voice Choir members have been invited to London’s Royal Festival Hall on November 3 to join the thousand voice massed choir.

On this occasion The Capricorn Singers ladies choir based in Cleveleys will also be taking part in the Festival of Brass & Voices as they did in 2009.

The possibility of a local concert in October by the two choirs as a dress-rehearsal prior to the visit to the capital is under consideration.

Blackpool Male Voice Choir will also be joining numerous male voice choirs from the North West in a charity concert organised by The Rotary Club of Manchester as a part of celebrations marking its centenary.

It will take place on February 25 in Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall.

More local is a concert on March 24 in St Margaret’s Church, St Leonards Road, St Annes when the Blackpool choir shares an evening presentation with The Guardian Concert Band.

More details nearer the date.
