Reality TV star Joey Essex wowed revellers on Saturday with an appearance at Club Sanuk.
Fresh from the Australian jungle, Essex boy Joey paid a visit to the Blackpool nightspot to appear at an under 18s party.
He stayed on for a late-night appearance and later took to Twitter to share his Sanuk experience.
The star tweeted about how much he had enjoyed the night in Blackpool along with pictures and videos.
Later in the evening he met Blackpool war hero Sgt Rick Clement, who tweeted ‘great to meet the legend today. Have a great night Joey.’
Sgt Clement said: “He was really nice. He came to talk to me and said he’s been at the Sun’s Military Awards recently and met other injured veterans.
“He spent quite a few minutes just chatting to me about it. I’d seen him a bit in the jungle so I know he was a nice enough lad and down to earth, but it was nice to see him.”
Sanuk owner Peter Bowden said: “Joey was amazing, the best public appearance we’ve had in 20 years.
“It was people mania – we had 600 girls in to see him and they were queueing to see him from 5pm and they were crying they wanted to see him so much.”
Mr Bowden said Joey entertained the crowd for an hour and a half before posing for pictures on the stage.
At one point he even rang his former The Only Way Is Essex colleague Amy Childs.
Mr Bowden added: “Joey thought Blackpool was ‘reem’.” Joey invented the word ‘Reem’ which apparently means something is ‘nice’ or ‘sexy’.
Joey Essex rose to fame in 2011 after appearing in the ITV2’s The Only Way Is Essex. He spent 20 days in the jungle for this year’s I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.
