Film-maker Tim Burton has announced a release date for his latestwork – parts of which were shot in Blackpool.
Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, based on a book by Ransom Riggs, was filmed in the resort last year. Hollywood star Samuel L Jackson was in town for the shoot, which saw the film’s production team turn the front of Blackpool Tower into a winter wonderland.
Director Tim was invited back to the resort to switch on the Illuminations afterwards.
The film is centred on an orphanage populated with mysterious children and their protectors, and also stars Eva Green, Dame Judi Dench, Chris O’Dowd and Terrence Stamp, among others.
The film will be released in the UK on October 7, one week behind its American release on September 30.
