Readers interested in the hit Game of Thrones book series are being invited to get involved in a special online event next week.

Book lovers can discuss direwolves and dragons as part of a return of Central Library’s Twitter Book Club, which is being held on World Book Night.

As well as holding an event for readers, a special workshop for writers is also being held on the same evening – Thursday, April 23.

The workshop, run by writer John Simpson Wedge, is titled ‘Don’t let your heroes win!’ and will include handy tips for prospective authors as well as advice on how to overcome plotting problems.

It costs only £3 and is open to any writers over the age of 16 between 5 and 7pm on the Thursday evening at the Central Library (pictured).

To book a place on the workshop, call (01253) 478080 or go into Central Library to secure a place.

As for the online book club, people can get involved to discuss book one of the series, ‘A Game of Thrones’, by using the hashtag #bookpool or by following @BpoolLibraries on Twitter from 8pm.

Copies of the books are also available to rent from Blackpool libraries or download as eBooks.
