Naomi Campbell, Erin O’Connor and Caroline Winberg beware – there is a new rival looking to take your supermodel crowns.
For Fylde coast beauty, Nina Sethi, has reached the final 12 of Sky Living programme, The Face.
Nina, of Ansdell Road North, Ansdell, is taking part in the show which is looking to find a future star of the modelling world.
Three judges – Naomi, Erin and Caroline – guide the girls in learning more about the rigorous career of modelling, before a contestant is voted off the show each week.
Twenty-three-year-old Nina said her part in the programme came about by chance, after reaching the semi-finals of a hairdressing competition as a model.
She added: “I’d been asked by my hairdresser, Eddie, from Truth in Lytham, to take part in a competition for L’Oreal.
“We ended up getting to the semi-final and it was that which gave me the confidence to apply for The Face.”
Nina was soon asked to join the show, but it left her with a big decision to make, as she had just been offered a managerial role at clothes store Abercrombie and Fitch.
She said: “I was on the graduate scheme there, but I went with my instinct and I haven’t regretted it since.
“The show has been a fantastic experience, while Naomi, Erin and Caroline have all been very helpful – they are three people I have looked up to for some time.”
Although Nina can’t reveal how far she progressed in the competition, she has since been signed up for Boss Model Management, a company recommended by Erin, and has taken part in catwalk shows for Harvey Nichols and Vogue in Manchester.
She added: “I had never done modelling full-time before and I must admit it is the hardest job I have ever had.
“It’s a lifestyle. You have to be careful what you eat and exercise regularly. It isn’t a case of just turning up and looking pretty, there is much more to it than that.”
