A producer is toastingthe success of her first ever TV show.

Julie Heathcote, originally from Garstang, and business partner Lisa Fairbank are celebrating after The Dog Hotelwas launched on the Watch channel this week with 100.000 viewers.

In the first episode viewers watched as married couple Leon and Matt Henderson-Rood began to get to grips with their business challenge– to successfully manage Brighton’s first luxury doggy hotel and spa. With no business experience between them, the pair called on friend and self-made multi-millionaire Gina Citroni to give them some much needed advice.

Julie said: “Myself and Lisa are over the moon that it has been such a big hit and has increased the channel’s audience figures by a sizeable chunk. We knew two years ago that the dog hotel and the lovely team that run it were brilliant TV.

“We’ve had countless knock backs along the way, but it’s wonderful to at last be proven right because it’s so rare in the world of TV to get that lucky break.

“My experience is that if you believe in something then the only way to make it happen is just to refuse to give up.”

In next week’s episode Matt and Leon take on their first dog on the hotel’s weight loss and fitness programme, which gives them the idea for a scheme to create their own healthy snacks for dogs.
