The full line-up and running order for Blackpool iFest has been revealed.
As Hollywood fever descends on the resort, with internationally famed director Tim Burton set to flick the Illuminations’ switch tomorrow night, the order of appearances have been announced for the three-night celebration.
The music gets underway at the Festival Headland on the Promenade tomorrow at 5pm with former X Factor stars, Irish twins Jedward.
Following them will be Amy Jo Clough, Gabz, local singer-songwriter James Edgar, Room 94, Bailey McConnall, Nicky McDonald, resort girl group Tiger Heart, Jack Walton, Alex Goddard, Blackpool’s Little Boots, Lawson and Only The Young.
Running into the main acts, after an interview with Lights curator Laurence Llewellyn Bowen, there’s Toploader, Becky Hill and Professor Green.
And in a change from previous years, Burton will take to the stage shortly after 9pm to do the honours before pop favourites The Vamps close the show.
Tim Burton’s return to the resort comes just a few months after he brought the cast and crew of his latest Hollywood movie to town, shooting stunt scenes in and around Blackpool Tower.
The iconic landmark is set to feature in the movie adaptation of Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, which has a UK release date of February 16 and stars Samuel L Jackson, Eva Green, Asa Butterfield and Dame Judi Dench.
Last summer, Burton paid a trip to Blackpool, calling in at the Pleasure Beach – declaring himself the South Shore attraction’s ‘biggest fan’.
And back in 2012, he shot scenes for US band The Killers’ video to track Here With Me, featuring Winona Ryder.
iFest continues on Saturday with Sky Vintage 80s pop night hosted by TV and radio star Pat Sharp, with master-mixer Jive Bunny opening the show at 6pm, followed by Jason Donovan, Owen Paul, Tpau, Limahl, Paul Young and headlined by Bananarama.
Closing the weekend, in a resort first, there will be comedy on the Comedy Carpet, as Al Murray – The Pub Landlord hosts and headlines, with a line-up featuring the likes of Chris Ramsey, Alun Cochrane, Tiff Stevenson, Carl Hutchinson and Craig Campbell.
