Actor-turned-cheesmaker Sean Wilson (pictured above) will be one of the highlights of the Festive Flower And Food Show at the Winter Gardens next month.

The now owner of The Saddleworth Cheese Company will be among those showcasing festive delights ay the event hosted by NAFAS, the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies.

The event takes place from Friday to Sunday, November 13 to 15, as members of the society compete for its prestigous designer of the year award, as well as heats to find the UK’s entry for the World Flower Show WAFA Barbados 2017.

Thousands of visitors are expected to attend, with activities ranging from free flower arranging demonstrations from top florists in the Design Theatre, as well as the Taste Theatre playing host to trade stands and celebrated producers.

NAFAS has also invited local school children to create a winter festival greetings card which will be displayed at the venue to encourage young people to get involved in art, craft and design.

NAFAS patron and TV presenter Nicki Chapman said: “Floral design is a true art form and we hope that this huge initiative can help spread our passion across the UK.”
