There’s an opportunity to experience the stunning architecture and history of Blackpool Grand Theatre tomorrow with the first of three photographic sessions led by award-winning photographer Sean Conboy.

If your are a keen photographer, want to learn the basics or build on your existing photography skills then the sessions are open to you.

Led by internationally acclaimed photographer, Sean Conboy the unique master class will provide photographers with the skills needed to photograph beautiful structures and interiors.

Sean has photographed Grand Theatre officially for many years and his work is regularly featured in its publicity as well as many international magazines.

With his visual awareness and extensive technical experience he will advise how you can best capture the perfect shot. You will then have the opportunity to take pictures of The Grand’s interior using Sean’s ‘top tips’ with your own cameras.

Sean’s career in photography spans 30 years and includes working for the prestigious Swedish camera manufacturers, Hasselblad. He has won numerous awards for his architectural images, and over the last few years he has become involved with both lifestyle and people photography. I hope that the photographic sessions will appeal to a broad range of people,” he said. “It should be emphasised that these sessions are open to anyone regardless of their level of ability.

“I hope for people to gain visual awareness, learn about composition and how to control colour and lighting.”

The first half of the photographic session includes a tutorial and demonstration.

“In the second half, the group will be split up and given the opportunity to photograph The Grand Theatre itself in all its glory.

“The Grand Theatre is one of the finest interiors in the country,” added Sean.

“The beauty about photographing the Grand Theatre is that there is so much detail – you can always find something new to photograph.

“What is special about these unique sessions is that people will have the opportunity to choose which part of The Grand they wish to photograph...they may even capture something that has never been photographed before.

“I love capturing detail and external structures.

“I have been lucky enough to photograph all over the world. My photography career has taken me to the outback of Australia, North Finland, and all over the Middle East.

“But I still really love coming back to the Grand – it’s such a stunning building.

“On these photographic tours you can see for yourself what a joy it is to capture the history and beauty of it in a photograph.”

Tomorrow’s session runs from 9.45am to 2.30pm. Next year’s sessions will take place on Thursday January 10 and Monday March 25.

Tickets are £35.
