The mysterious world of Sherlock Holmes has come together with Jack the Ripper for the latest touring production to hit the Grand Theatre.
Sherlock Holmes And The Ripper Murders is described as a ‘drama of intrigue and suspense features everyone’s favourite detective.’
Written by Brian Clemens, who’s best known for his work on The Avengers, Talking Scarlet is staging the play after recent productions Double Death in 2014 and Murder With Love in July this year.
A spokesman said: “The grisly serial killings of prostitutes and vulnerable women in Victorian Whitechapel have been dubbed by the popular press as the work of ‘Jack the Ripper’ and are the talk of London.
“While investigating the goings on, Sherlock Holmes and Dr John H Watson are drawn into one of the darkest plots ever to shake the foundations of England.
“There are freemasons, conspiracies and plots at the highest level of the establishment.
“But for Holmes, there is also a uniquely personal element to this new and terrifying cast.
“Set in the smog-ridden slums of Victorian London, this promises to be a truly atmospheric production.”
Samuel Clemens heads the cast as Sherlock Holmes, with George Telfer as Dr Watson, alongside Andrew Paul - The Bill’s PC Dave Quinnan - who plays Sir William Gull.
