The stars of this year’s Grand Theatre pantomime will be meeting fans at Stanley Park.
Su Pollard, Dan Whiston and Steve Royle – as well as some ‘very special guests’ – will all be at the Snow White And The Seven Drawfs family fun day on Friday, August 21.
The event at the bandstand, from 1pm to 3pm, will include free activities and giveaways, plus a live broadcast by Radio Wave.
The Grand will also be hosting a fairytale fancy dress competition for children, with a chance to win a family ticket to see the panto over the Christmas spell.
Blackpool-born Dan ‘can’t wait’ for the run at his hometown theatre, when he will play the Prince.
Dan’s best known as one of ITV’s Dancing On Ice professionals, picking up the most trophies of any skater with three wins, with celebrities Gaynor Faye, Blackpool’s Hayley Tamaddon and Beth Tweddle, and competing in all nine series of the show.
Su Pollard – best known for her turn as dizzy chalet maid Peggy Ollerenshaw in TV classic Hi De Hi! – will make her return to the Grand as the Wicked Queen in the festive family special.
Her most recent appearances include the evil Miss Hannigan in Annie in 2011 and in 2008 production Shout! with Claire Sweeney.
Funny man Steve Royle makes his 12th return to the Grand’s panto team, bringing the madcap antics of his former alter-ego Mad Edgar, from the now-closed Camelot theme park, to life live on stage.
A Grand Theatre spokesman said: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs promises to be another UK Productions’ pantomime packed with incredible magic, musical hits, but above all huge laughs.
“It’s fun for all the family. A laugh-a-minute extravaganza, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs features stunning sets, fabulous costumes and impressive effects.
“Book early to ensure you secure the best seats – and be spellbound by the spectacular Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
