Maureen Nolan is to tackle a new musical role.
The singing sister has become best known for playing the tragic Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers, in the West End and on several UK tours for more than a decade.
It had been anticipated that Maureen would head the cast of the Blood Brothers tour, as it heads to the Opera House in March.
But she has been announced as joining the cast of Footloose: The Musical, as it tours the UK from January, playing Vi Moore alongside Gareth Gates as Willard.
Maureen Nolan has been singing with her sisters since she was nine years old, when they became one of Europe’s first girl bands, The Nolans.
Best known for their smash hit single I’m in the Mood for Dancing, The Nolans enjoyed phenomenal record sales worldwide, and worked with some of the world’s most respected artists, including Frank Sinatra. Maureen was the fourth Nolan sister to play the role of Mrs Johnstone, earning them entry into the Guinness Book of World Records.
The tour will play Manchester’s Palace Theatre from March 21 to 26. Call (0161) 245 6600 to book.
