Blackpool Grand Theatre is holding a free family fun day in Stanley Park with an invitation to meet the stars of this year’s pantomime Cinderella.
Attending the event in the picnic area of the park from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday, August 29, will be Danny Miller (Emmerdale’s Aaron Livesy ), Grand favourite Steve Royle, Amy Thompson (Channel 5’s Milkshake) and Radio Wave’s Hayley Kay.
There will be various free things to do for everyone including face painting, a bouncy castle, an appearance from the Grand Theatre’s Matcham Monkey and the chance to meet all the pantomime stars.
Stockport-born Danny Miller will be playing the handsome prince in this year’s panto. Danny played Emmerdale’s troubled mechanic Aaron Livesy from 2008. His four years in the show saw him play a key role in some of Emmerdale’s most controversial storylines.
Danny began his acting career with a long running role in Grange Hill, playing Kyle Brown. A year later he took over the part of Aaron – winning huge acclaim for his role in the hit soap.
In 2009 he won Best Soap Actor at the TV Quick and TV Choice Awards. He also won the 2010 and 2011 Best Actor Awards at the Inside Soap Awards along with the awards for Best Dramatic Performance and the TV Times Awards for Best Newcomer 2010 and Favourite Soap Star 2011. He has been nominated for Best Actor in the 2012 British Soap Awards and Inside Soap Awards.
Also attending the fun day, BBC Radio presenter Steve Royle (who will be playing buttons in Cinderella), returns to the theatre for his 10th consecutive year in pantomime due to popular demand.
As well as being a veteran of Grand Theatre panto Steve is an actor, comedian, writer, juggler and a regular presenter on BBC Radio Lancashire.
Channel 5’s Milkshake! presenter Amy Thompson will be playing Cinderella. This will be a return to The Grand for the presenter who starred in the 2010 pantomime Aladdin. Amy appeared as Jenny Nelson in Emmerdale before joining Milkshake! in 2009. She will be appearing at The Grand next year in the stage show of Milkshake! in February.
Radio Wave’s Breakfast Show co-host Hayley Kay takes on the role of Fairy Godmother.
Cinderella is on at the Grand Theatre from Friday December 7 to Sunday January 26.
Tickets are available from £12.50 with children’s prices, grandparent’s prices, concessions, family tickets, schools and group discounts also available.
