A COMEDIAN compared to Les Dawson has been amusing children on a popular television programme.

Greg Cook, 53, makes his living as a comedian gigging around the North West and was once even compared to the late, great Dawson during a BBC comedy competition.

But he also turns his hand to acting, a trade he says is “easy”, and on Tuesday night featured in CBBC’s sketch show The Johnny and Inel Show.

He said: “It’s a kid’s sketch show, it was good fun filming.

“I’d never done acting, I just fell into it but it’s just dead easy I think.”

Mr Cook, of Barclay Avenue, Marton, first appeared on screen in the film Looking For Eric and has since landed roles in Coronation Street.
