A ‘lion’ on the loose in deepest, darkest Essex prompted Blackpool entertainer Leye D Johns to put a tiger in his tank and take to the Promenade.
Holidaymakers didn’t know whether to laugh, throw buns or head for the hills when the host and co-owner of the newly opened Viva! cabaret bar took to the streets in his tiger costume as “revenge” for the recent alleged sighting of wildcat in the Essex countryside.
“I wanted to prove that the only way isn’t Essex so I ‘escaped’ from Viva! to hopefully put a smile on a few faces,” said Leye. “I was more of a Tourist Tiger than a publicity shy lion though!”
See Leye D Johns looking a little more civilised with guest vocalists in action every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Viva! on Church Street just off the Promenade (next to Harry Ramsdens and opposite Burger King).
