More than 100 college students have been granted unprecedented access to global star David Hasselhoff.

The Blackpool Sixth Form students were given the opportunity to meet the star of stage and screen for an exclusive question and answer session while he is starring in new musical Last Night A DJ Saved My Life at the Winter Gardens.

Students from a range of courses including travel and tourism, performing arts and fashion attended a matinee performance of the show and were then given time afterwards to chat with The Hoff about his career.

Scott Fisher, 17, was one of the students taking part in the question and answer session and he said it was a fantastic opportunity.

The travel and tourism student from Poulton said: “I am a huge Hoff fan so this was amazing.

“We got to see the show which we all loved and then to be able to meet the Hoff afterwards and ask him about his career was great.

“This guy has done so much with his life and is an inspiration.

“It’s quite an honour to be able to chat with someone who is so well respected around the world and it’s great that he took the time out to speak to us all.”

Blackpool Sixth travel and tourism teacher Daniel Dobranski, who has established the link with the Winter Gardens, said: “This is an excellent development for the college and is exclusive to Blackpool Sixth.”

The Q&A session with The Hoff is part of a growing partnership between the college and the Winter Gardens providing work experience opportunities for Blackpool Sixth students across a wide range of different functions such as front-of-house, costumes, hospitality and administration.

Winter Gardens managing director Michael Williams said: “We are delighted to have been able to offer such an exciting opportunity to the students at Blackpool Sixth.

“We have so many well-known stars gracing the stages of the Winter Gardens so to be able to offer something so exclusive and with such a well-known personality to this group of local students was fantastic.”

Last Night A DJ Saved My Life runs at Blackpool Opera House until tomorrow night.
