Disappointed theatregoers missing out on musical Copacabana this week, have been offered a night out at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
On Friday, the Grand Theatre was forced to pull the show, amid reports of non-payment to the cast and company and after shows were cancelled at previous venues.
After five days of attempting to contact ASH Productions Live, bosses at the Grand took matters into their own hands, and have offered all patrons a refund.
The Winter Gardens is offering all Copacabana ticket holders a free ticket to one of its festive film screenings in the Opera House, from December 20 to January 2.
A Winter Gardens spokesman said: “The Winter Gardens is committed to Blackpool’s town centre economy and has put together the offer to encourage those who might now have not visited the town centre due to this cancellation over the next few weeks to do so.”
Anyone seeking a ticket from the Winter Gardens must show proof of purchase of a Copacabana ticket, and one film ticket will be issued for each ticket to the cancelled show. Films include It’s a Wonderful Life, Frozen, A Muppet Christmas Carol, Love Actually and Bad Santa.
Grand marketing manager Andrew Howard said “I am delighted to hear the Winter Gardens are making this gesture.”
