The Grand Theatre reckons it is on to a winner with its summer season, claiming tickets are flying out of the box office for Ooh La La and Step Back In Time.

Both shows star comic duo Cannon and Ball and are said to be top quality productions, produced by father and son team Steve and Stephen Bor, who have experience of staging shows all over the world.

Step Back In Time starts tomorrow, with Ooh La La beginning its run on Thursday week.

Cannon and Ball and the rest of the cast have been at The Grand rehearsing hard for the last few weeks and there is a final rehearsal today to make sure the opening night goes to plan.

Step Back In Time is very family friendly, with Ooh La La aimed more at a more grown up audience but still suitable for all ages.

As well as Cannon and Ball, both shows – which are choreographed by London Olympic 2012 ceremony choreographer Nathan Clarke – star singing sensation Katie Shepherd, the eye-wateringly agile Cirque-artist Emilie Arata, European star and elegant aerial contortionist O’Neil Reyes, comic juggler Romano Frediani and the glamorous All-Star Dancers.

The Grand is also launching a new Tweeting service throughout the shows. The idea is to provide an up-to-the-minute insight and first hand reaction to the shows – a completely new initiative for the theatre.

How will it work? The back row of the stalls will be held off for the ‘Grand tweeters’ on the opening nights of Step Back In Time and Ooh La La. Every successful applicant will receive a free ticket to the show and will be asked to tweet their reactions during the performance.

For the chance to become a ‘Grand Tweeter’, post your most imaginative tweet in 140 characters promoting Step back In Time or Ooh La La, and end the tweet with #BPLGrand.

Meanwhile tickets for both shows - starting from £15 - are on sale now from www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk or the box office on 01253 743339.
