Talented dancers and singers have a chance to win a part in the new West End production of Disney musical Aladdin.
The production will open in London next summer, with open auditions taking place in Manchester on Friday for females and Saturday for males.
The Dancehouse Theatre, Oxford Road, will host the sessions, with registration from 9.15am and it is advised that auditionees arrive early. The last registration is at 12.30pm.
Disney’s casting team is looking for ‘athletic, technically-trained dancers with strong technique in all styles and strong singing voices’, while singers should be ‘excellent and be able to dance well in order to make up the ensemble’. Attendees must be aged 18 years or older, eligible to work in the UK and have a playing age of 20s-30s.
Actors of all ethnicities and cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged to attend.
Anyone attending is asked to bring a copy of their CV with a photo stapled to it, as well as sheet music to 16 bars of a musical theatre song showing their full range.
No backing tracks are to be used.
Aladdin is in its second record-breaking year on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theater, Aladdin, opened at Tokyo’s Dentsu Shiki Theatre Umi in May 2015 and will have its European premiere in December in Hamburg.
